Labette County FFA Chapter Competes in Career Development Events

Four members of the Labette County FFA Chapter recently competed in Iola, Kansas, at the 2023 Southeast District FFA Agricultural Sales Career Development Event.  The Agricultural Sales Career Development Event prepares students for careers in the sales industry.  Students were required to research a product, develop a sales presentation, overcome buyer resistance, and close the sale.  In addition, students participated in a face-to-face practicum.  The customer relations practicum placed students in the role of a . . .

Labette County FFA Competes in District and Breakout Meats Judging Contests

The Labette County FFA meats judging teams recently competed in the Southeast District meats judging competition held in Eureka and the Ft. Scott Breakout contest. The A-team consisted of Charli Alloway, Alyssa Barragar, Emma George, Lakin Giager, Keelie Good, Dallas Hill, Peyton Merrick, Cecillia Newby and Matthew Simmons. Kylie Booth, an educator at Labette County High School, was recently selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS). Vail Named Semi-Finalist for Coca-Cola Scholar

Labette County high school senior, Holden Vail, has been named a Semifinalist for the 2022 class of the Coca-Cola Scholars Program, moving to the next round of the selection process to become a Coca-Cola Scholar and receive a $20,000 college scholarship. Labette County FFA Parliamentary Procedure Teams Excel at Contest

The Labette County FFA Parliamentary Procedure Teams recently competed in the Southeast District Parliamentary Procedure Contest at Girard High School. Weeks of hard work and preparation paid off as the Intermediate team placed second and the Senior team placed first.
