Labette County FFA Competes in Communications

Launch the media gallery 1 playerEUREKA, KAN.—Labette County FFA teams placeD 1st and 2nd in the Southeast District Agricultural Communications Contest this past weekend.
Each member of the team was assigned one of four practicums. Labette County’s teams consisted of Cierra George and Gail Kenkel competing in web-design layout, Kaylee Dillow and Pyper White in press release writing, Makenna Burke and Ellie Gudde in opinion writing, and Sydney Foster and Karly Waun in video script writing.
Contestants also took an editing quiz where they corrected errors in a news article and took a 25-question agricultural communications information test.
In the A-team competition, Gudde received 1st, Foster 3rd, and Dillow 5th. The Labette County Agricultural Communications A-team placed 1st overall.
In the B-team contest, Waun placed 3rd, Kenkel 7th, White 8th and Burke 10th. The Labette County Agricultural Communications B-team placed 2nd overall.
